Your consciousness the night before will determine how you’ll wake up in the next morning.

Hello, everyone. I’m Fuyo Haruna.
Now, people have started talking about the cherry blossoms blooming in various part of Japan. In spring, flowers start blooming. This happens every year but it always gives me a sense of wonder. People say that changes in season are obvious in Japan. Aren’t we fortunate to have our hearts bouncing with joy as it gets warmer? Thus, changes in nature give us a good chance to see ourselves.

Last time, I talked about becoming aware of negative feelings residing in one’s heart. If you are ashamed or shocked to know that your heart harbors so many negative feelings, actually, that is a great step forward. The higher your consciousness gets, the more visible both of your positive and negative feelings will become. So don’t be worried.

What causes you to have negative feelings? It is because you have to go through things that pain your or annoy you. This is normal, but most people don’t know specifically what has caused them to have such feelings or what has made them feel unhappy.

Even when you wake up in the morning in a bad mood, you usually don’t know how to cope with it; you simply start your day ― for example ― by going to work and arriving at your office, with the same negative feelings. This way, you can’t work in a productively, or you may even attract unwanted negativities to yourself.

In this regard, consciousness in the morning is critical.

When you have a nice, pleasant morning, why not let yourself rejoice more and be more grateful for that? If not, ask yourself why and see what’s in your heart. No doubt there is a reason.
You may have been worried about your work or your relationships with people, or may still be bothered by what happened to you yesterday. You may have hundreds of reasons but you are just preoccupied if put simply. Such preoccupation of your heart has caused it to run short of energy.
So, the first step to releasing yourself from such feelings is to recognize what is bothering you. Once you become aware of it, you can banish it.

How you wake up in the morning is highly important because it determines how you start your day. And the amount of energy you have in the morning will have a direct impact on whether you're going to have a fulfilling day.

Having said so, however, I believe how you fall asleep the night before is more important than how you wake up in the morning.
Many of the readers of ‘Lullaby of the Earth’― the books I have written based on my own experiences ― say that reading the books before going to bed will help them have a fresh start in the morning because they can forget all the nasty things that happened during the day. Truly, nothing pleases me more, but why have they come to have a better morning after they started reading my books before going to bed? It’s because various negativities built up during the day are banished.
Your energy level is usually the lowest at night unless you have an extremely happy experience that day. As your energy diminishes before you know it, the level of your consciousness goes down. And if you fall asleep with that consciousness, you’ll wake up in the next morning with the same level of consciousness. We, humans, have both physical and mental energy replenished while we are sleeping. However, if you are preoccupied or suffered mentally and fall asleep with that consciousness, your soul will visit a lower world while you are sleeping, causing you to have a scary, awful dream; you are far from having your energy restored.
That’s why you need to raise the level of your consciousness as much as possible before you go to bed.

Why not take time bathing yourself in warm water and try to relax while looking back on your day. It would be a good idea to remember a happy experience and rejoice in that memory once more. Even when a painful memory comes back to you, just drive it out, believing that someday, you will be able to cope with it. Why don’t you turn your eyes to yourself and your family who have been fit and sound for the day and be grateful for that? This way, you can increase your energy.
And, if possible, try to read my book before going to bed. Only a few lines will do. Whichever page you are on, you will find lines that move your heart and touch your soul. You are sure to regain energy.

The consciousness with which you fall asleep is important. Erase negativities of the day, as many as possible, so that you can fall asleep with heightened consciousness. If you keep doing this day after day, you are sure to have a fresh start in the morning.
