Hello everyone,
I’m Fuyo Haruna.
The season of rich green growth is upon us.
The mountains are so beautiful.
The sight of leaves shimmering in the sunlight gives me such a sense of
euphoria.
If only we could live with such a feeling all the time.
In real life, however, this really can’t happen.
We get excited so easily with goods news and, likewise, we get hurt so
easily with hard words; our hearts react in a similar way.
Some say that it would be wonderful if we could stay happy throughout our
lives without suffering. How comfortable our lives would be if we could
live only with people we get along well with. Having to live with people
of different states of consciousness certainly creates tensions and conflicts.
But if all the people around you were nice to you, you’d neither have conflicts
nor chances for growth.
Right. If you were in too good an environment, you wouldn’t be able to
grow.
Getting through tough situations is what life is all about, isn’t it?
This world, I believe, is so created that humans develop and grow using
various ‘tools’ provided?be they a relationship with a spouse, with children,
with parents, at work, and with people in the community. The point is how
you use these tools. I’ve come to realize in my long life that, seen in
different lights, all of these tools are very precious for growth.
Unless you feel that the hardship you are experiencing is a tool that makes
you grow, you’ll find it too hard to bear. However, if you can convince
yourself that it is a great tool for your personal growth, you’ll be motivated
to take on the hardship.
It is true that a group of like-minded people will have fewer conflicts,
but it would be more wonderful if people of different opinions or of different
personalities could understand each other and work together in a harmonious
way. As the consciousness of individuals grows bigger in a true sense,
people come to accept each other and, in the process, individuals can make
themselves grow as persons. How much more valuable life would be if we
could work things out this way!
When you come up against something likely to cause suffering, you stop
and think what you can do to solve the problem or to get along with the
people involved. In thinking through the situation, however, what matters
is whether you blame someone else or whether you see a need to change yourself.
As long as you think ill of people, you’ll never be able to make yourself
grow. While you are blaming someone else, such a feeling will foster ‘negativity’
in you and the negativity will, in return, start to influence you. In the
end though, you’ll come to realize that you have to raise the level of
your own consciousness.
So, I believe, all things that transpire in this world are so schemed by
Nature that people use one another as tools to move up the ladder of consciousness.
