Our Wishes | |

Hello, everyone, this is Fuyo Haruna. We are now in the rainy season and are having a lot of rainy days. Serene mountains―blurred with rain and fog―look just like a picture in black-and-white, a feast for the eyes. In the rice fields, rice plants, although beaten down by the rain, are growing steadily for autumn harvest time. We have sunny days and rainy days. Likewise, we have scorching summers and freezing winters. In these seasonal changes, grow all the living creatures. I wish we humans could grow also more and more. Today, I’d like to talk about our ‘wishes’―a product of our hearts. All humans have wishes―like ‘I want this or that’ or ‘I want to be like this or that’. Some people pursue material wealth and some find their pleasures in hobbies or entertainment. Some people desire good relationships with others and some want to help their companies produce good results. Some people may want to make themselves look good to others. It isn’t too extreme to say that all of our behaviors are driven by our wishes and our dreams. Even if you are unaware of such special wishes residing within you, these wishes are the driving force in your life. Why not try to look deep into your heart, and ask what wishes you have for your life? Some wishes can be adopted by Nature and some can’t. People say that we may have wishes but shouldn’t let them grow into greed, which means that we shouldn’t be greedy or pursue our wishes excessively. If you are just content with what you are, if you are not grateful for things, and if you are always wanting things, one after another, such wishes will never be adopted by Nature. As I look back on my life, to my joy, all of my wishes have been granted without exceptions. My wishes, for the most part, have been to make, not me, but my family and the people surrounding me happy. Some wishes did take time to be fulfilled; they took years. But, they were granted in the end. I believe this is because my wishes were not solely for myself, but were for many other people; that’s why they were granted. But don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that any personal wish is bad; if it is the right wish for you to make at the right point in your life, it will be granted by Nature. Rather than hoping to fulfill my wishes as soon as possible, I’ve always wanted to be a person who can be helped by Nature. Instead of complaining about the wishes that have not been fulfilled, I’ve been grateful for things that have already been granted. This is how I’ve made wishes in my life. Now I’ve realized that the purpose of life is not to fulfill one’s dreams, but to make oneself grow with them. Everyone has wishes and wants to fulfill them―that’s life. So, how can we make ourselves grow in it? That’s the question. Normally, wishes take time to be realized. Wishes that can be fulfilled straight away―like a wish made in the morning and fulfilled in the evening―can’t really be called a wish. If you have a wish that can’t be fulfilled easily, you’ll have that wish in your heart for a longer time. Such a wish may sometimes cause you to suffer. Wishes seemingly hard to attain can become a source of pain. And, truly, this is where real life lies. Live your dream nonetheless, while putting up with the pain. There is a mechanism that works to enable us to fulfill our dreams by getting help from Nature, as long as we keep giving thanks for things. This mechanism never works however, if you make complaints or have negative feelings or grievances about it. The law is at work that our wishes are granted as long as they are right and are embraced for long enough. If you feel, when at the brink of death, that you’ve had a happy life, your life must have been in harmony with the law. If you can feel so, despite some wishes that haven’t been granted, your heart must be packed with joy and a sense of contentment. If you raise the level of your consciousness and come to have more energy, any wish can be granted by Nature. Wishes are not something that you fulfill, but something that is granted by Nature. If you make a wish at all, make a wish to deepen your sense of gratitude at receiving more energy from Nature. Human greed will never be accepted. However, your wish to elevate yourself by receiving more energy will surely be granted, as this is exactly what Nature wishes us to do. If you want to fulfill a wish, why not make your first wish a wish to grow into a person who can be accepted by Nature. |
